Abstract

This paper discussed the role of adopting or utilizing innovative strategies and techniques on teaching and learning of concepts in Basic Science and Technology and its contribution to the attainment of sustainable development goals in Science. It highlighted some of the suitable innovative methods that can influence effective transition from how science was taught and learned in the traditional era to this era of technology driven knowledge acquisition. It stress the potency of innovative strategies in achieving science development goals as entrenched in national policy on science and science education. The authors looked into the impact of these innovative strategies on the attainment of science development goals and how it influences the teaching and learning of basic science and technology. The paper rounded up its submission through identification of some of the challenges facing effective adoption of innovative strategies to teaching efficiency and suggested the ways to overcome the listed challenges which is believed when positively adopted can influence the attainment of sustainable development goals in science.
